Indenture Between Sarilda DAVIS and Elizabeth E. SLAUGHTER

This indenture made the 16th day of Oct in the year of our lord 1888 Between
Surilda Davis of the county of Wilcox & State of Georgia of the first part &
Elizabeth E. Slaughter of the county of Wilcox & State of Georgia of the
second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in
consideration of the sum of Two hundred Dollars in hand paid at & before the
sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged...  her heirs & assigns all the following described property to
wit: The south half of lot of land number 141 in the 5th Dist of said County
of Wilcox, containing containing 101 1/4 acres more or less: To have and to
hold the above granted and described property with all.... To witness whereof
the said party of the first part has hereunto set her hand & affixed her seal
& delivered this presents the day & year first above written. Signed sealed
and delivered in presents of us the day & year above written.

Note accompanying submission:

"Thought I would submit part of a indenture I copied while in the Wilcox Co.,
courthouse. The wording is as I believe to be correct.  Don't know who Surilda
Davis is. Elizabeth E. Slaughter is believed to be my step-great-great
grandmother, second wife of Jeremiah Slaughter. Don't know what Elizabeth's
maiden name was. They married sometime after 1870. Jeremiah born 1825 Putnam
Co., GA, lived in Crawford Co, Macon Co.1850, then Dooly 1860-1870, then
Pulaski by 1880, then Wilcox Co., GA where he collected a CSA indigent
pension. As far as I know they never had children together as per his pension
record states.
